Cristal USA Inc. Operations Shift Supervisor in ASHTABULA, Ohio

About the Role The Plant 2 Operations Shift Supervisor role is responsible for leading and supervising one of four operating shifts for the Ashtabula Plant. The shift supervisor is expected to achieve optimum results and driving improvements in safety, environmental, quality, cost, and reliability by leveraging the full value all employees. The supervisor develops hourly Operators through coaching, feedback, and unit assignments -- through dialog, the use of the core competency model and development plans. Rotating shifts -- working a 0600-1800 or 1800-0600 shift. This is a Safety Critical Role. Key responsibilities include: • Ensure the safe, productive, and efficient operations of the Plant operations. • Lead and foster teamwork and pride in the crew. • Communicate plant goals, policies, and standards ensuring accountability. • Develop operations personnel through coaching, feedback, and unit assignments conducting periodic performance reviews as needed. • Drive continuous improvement to optimize plant operations. • Foster teamwork across the shifts and with all other functional groups to ensure that activities are well-aligned with maximum impact. • Develops, coordinates and issues daily instructions for shift personnel to meet all day-to-day plant objectives with respect to safety, environmental control, efficiency, reliability, and productivity. • Directs emergency response efforts when needed. • Ensure adherence to the INEOS Pigments Process and Behavioral Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules • Coordinates training on safety and operating procedures • Ensures that the workplace is free of harassment, discrimination and that individuals are treated with respect. • All other duties as assigned. About You You should possess: • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Higher level education and leadership training a plus • A minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience is desired to ensure a strong understanding of operating environments and plant processes. • A minimum of five years of experience supervising employees in a manufacturing operation, chemical manufacturing in a multi shift operation is preferred. • Basic chemistry including the knowledge of various manufacturing operating equipment, instruments and control systems. • Mechanical Aptitude is required. Must have the ability to understand complex manufacturing and operational production processes. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Consistently demonstrate high standards and model the appropriate behaviors. • Strong working knowledge of safety, environmental and emergency response requirements • Functionality with various computer programs (SAP, word, excel, etc.) Schedule/Hours This is a salaried exempt, rotating 12-hour shift position.
