The Senior Technician - EMC will help run a world class EMC facility for Milwaukee Tool Engineering and Development. This technician will setup and teardown equipment for test, execute testing per direction from Principal EMC Engineer, and manage calibration and preventative maintenance.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all the EMC test instruments, including the yearly calibration and preventative maintenance of said instruments.

  • Manage in-house stock of EMC suppression components used while debugging product.

  • Help coordinate the test schedule and chamber utilization with a Principal EMC Engineer.

  • Setup and teardown product and test equipment while performing tests.

  • Complete standardized test reports documenting all test results.

  • Assist in the debugging of Milwaukee Tool product with regards to EMC/EMI testing.

  • Maintain a database of test results and reports.

  • Ensure lab safety procedures are always adhered to by all personnel in the EMC lab.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • 3+ years of experience in EMC testing.

  • Proficiency with EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, RF amplifiers, vector network analyzers, RF field probes, antennas, artificial networks, and bulk current injection probes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, independent judgement, and ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong experience in working in an EMC lab, building infrastructure to support certifications and day to day operations.

  • Experience with testing/reporting EMC results for motors, drives, and power electronics.

  • Experience with modifying circuit boards to evaluate potential RF solutions.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Experience working in an accredited EMC test laboratory and supporting:

  • Standardized work instruction creation

  • Calibration management

  • Measurement uncertainty

  • Proficiency and correlation testing regimens

  • Internal laboratory audits and reviews

  • Working knowledge of applicable standards of conducted and radiated emissions and immunity testing.

  • Basic PCBA soldering skills
