Help create the future of video shopping with Amazon! Amazon Shoppable Videos (ASV) is seeking a customer-obsessed Linear Strategy and Operations Specialist with a proven track record of managing video projects in the digital, linear, or streaming TV space. In March of 2024, Amazon Shoppable Videos launched a linear FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) channel with second screen mobile shopping companion experience. As the Linear Strategy and Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the both the day-to-day and long-term strategy involved with programming and operating the Amazon Live linear channel and how that intersects with the shoppable companion experience. This will include managing, reporting and tracking deliverables and tasks, creating and updating SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), and contributing to business reports. You will also work with cross functional teams to ensure team alignment on goals and deliverables, work with our partners across Amazon and within ASV, defining and prioritizing asks, and summarizing state of the business for org wide communication and senior leadership reviews.

This role requires 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in entertainment/media. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. This role requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills as they will be expected to regularly present progress docs to leadership and contribute to ASV business reviews.

Key job responsibilities

• Working with the Tech, Product, Content, Linear and Studio Operations teams to program and stream to the channel while developing long-term strategic plans

• Developing and disseminating critical project and program information to stakeholders

• Developing mechanisms, processes, and measurement of programs’ performance

• Driving effective, efficient communication and collaboration for projects that span multiple functions within ASV and teams throughout Amazon

• Interacting with and influencing Product Managers, Creative Development, Producers, Technical Program Managers, and Engineering teams to define and deliver complex initiatives

• Anticipating bottlenecks, managing escalations, making tradeoffs, and balance business needs vs. technical constraints

• Defining efficient, repeatable processes that can enable the business to scale

• Taking large, complex projects and breaking them down into manageable pieces

The successful candidate will be passionate about project management, planning, and delivery. You can influence without authority and have superior written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to manage change with cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment is paramount to success.

A day in the life

As Linear Strategy and Operations Specialist for the ASV content team, you will define and create the linear content and operations strategy. You will lead cross team meetings, working with stakeholders across different areas within ASV and Amazon. You will have experience and thrive in environments that require you to develop structure where none exists. This is an opportunity to build and manage the overall strategy for a fun, innovative, and growing business unit within Amazon.

About the team

Amazon Shoppable Videos (ASV) is a growing business within the Amazon Advertising, IMDb and Grand Challenge (AIGC) business unit. AIGC is one of the fastest growing business units within Amazon, with the highest percentage margin contribution of any large business. ASV is delivering the video shopping experience to Amazon consumers, with a purpose to enable customers to find inspiration, information, entertainment, and community through videos at any point in their shopping journey. The ASV team designs, builds and operates both owned and operated destination experiences (e.g.amazon.com/live, Amazon Live’s channel on Prime Video and Freevee), as well as federated experiences across the Amazon.com website (e.g. Amazon homepage, product detail pages for over 21MM products). In addition, ASV sources shoppable video content from brands, influencers and consumers to populate both types of experiences.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working in a start-up environment, with high levels of ambiguity

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in linear, broadcast or digital media environment

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Video or supply chain experience

  • Certified Project/Program management credentials

  • Demonstrated expertise in process management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
