The superintendent of process engineering is responsible for directing the process and process control engineers as well as supporting technical staff in making the Lima production facility a safe, reliable, efficient, and growing operation by managing technical resources in support of Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Capital Project departments while also developing and vetting a site project portfolio supporting the growth and enhancement of site operations. What you will do:

• Models Nutrien core values of safety and integrity and lead an inclusive culture in which all team members are actively contributing to a safe work environment by utilizing Nutrien's culture of care
• Supervise and direct process and process control engineers as well as supporting technical staff. Obtain and manage supplemental resources as required
• Maintain overall design basis including Heat & Material Balances (H&MB), Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), relief valve sizing and design basis, equipment sizing and documentation, chemical reactivity matrix, and cause and effect logic diagrams. Responsible for providing process design limits to Operations
• Provide technical support and team guidance for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Safety Instrumented System Determination (SILd) studies including creating and resolving deficiencies via corrective action items
• Manage and provide technical support for timely completion of Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and TapRoot incident investigations
• Provide technical support during detailed design phase of engineering. Ensure detailed engineering is completed in accordance with both RAGAGEP and corporate design guidance documents. Ensure all project PHA items are resolved during design and commissioning processes
• Provide leadership and guidance for training and development of engineering personnel

What you will bring:

• BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline is required
• 7+ years of experience in chemical plant or similar environment with responsibilities involving process engineering, maintenance, or operations is required
• Professional Engineering Designation preferred
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects with a total installed cost (TIC) of $5.0 MM is preferred
• Previous leadership and supervisory experience are preferred
• Knowledge of ammonia, urea, and nitric acid manufacturing processes is preferred
• Knowledge of basic process control systems (BPCS) and safety instrumented systems (SIS) is preferred
