Job Description Summary

This person will be required to perform all existing Maintenance I functions. In addition, will be required to assist in directing and training maintenance crew, establishing and maintaining preventive maintenance program, maintaining required spare parts inventory, and other assigned duties and projects. Work must perform with the minimum amount of supervision, utilizing knowledge and skills to perform the maximum amount of efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must have a master electrician license.

  • Must have 3 years of experience as Plant Maintenance I or equivalent related experience.

  • Must be knowledgeable of outside contractors and suppliers.

  • Must possess good communications skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must have leadership abilities and be capable of working with and directing work crew to arrive at maximum efficiency.

  • Must be able to work from prints and be able to take field measurements and make readable sketches or diagrams when necessary.

  • Must know and practice all plant safety rules.

  • Must possess and have thorough knowledge and understanding of all plant equipment and facilities.

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.

  • Follows all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.

  • Follow all food safety procedures.

  • Follows all environmental protocols as applicable job.

  • Overtime is required.

  • May be assigned other duties.

Lifting Requirement

☐ Sedentary Work

Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

☐ Light Work

Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/ or leg controls.

☒ Medium Work

Lifting of 50 pounds maximum with the frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

☐ Very Heavy Work

Lifting objects 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Team lift is required for objects weighing over 50 pounds.

Protective Equipment: Employees must wear safety glasses, non-slip safety toe shoes, protective gloves, hair net, Tyvex gown, and ear protection, as required.
