POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title:Loan Servicing Manager

Department:Loan Servicing

Classification:Exempt

Salary Range:$60,944 - $76,180 annually depending on experience

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position reportsto: VP of Risk Management

Positions Supervised: Loan Servicing Specialists

POSITION PURPOSE

The Loan Servicing Manager oversees the activities of the Loan Servicing Department while serving as a leader supporting the department personnel and ensuring superior member and internal service standards. Primarily, the individual in this role oversees departmental support functions; reviews, organizes and completes new loan files. This individual will be responsible for quality control and the timely delivery of departmental reports while ensuring a high departmental quality and portfolio security through the administration of lien perfection, UCC filings, file tracking, and compliance reviews. The Loan Servicing Manager is instrumental in leading the department to excellence in the support of the servicing needs directly with the membership and indirectly through assistance to frontline staff. They are responsible for the mentoring, training, growth and development of the Loan Servicing staff. The department also administers the claims process associated with the various ancillary products cross-sold to members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Responsible for the compliance, accuracy, and efficiency of all loan servicing functions. That is, payment processing, escrow administration, statements, payoffs, lien releases, and all service reporting activities.

2) Monitor and manage the sub servicer accounts for each loan sold to Government Sponsored Entity (GSE) Investors (i.e., Fannie Mae and FHLB)

3) Develop, recommend, plan and implement all loan servicing policies and procedures to support and meet the compliance requirements of federal, state, and GSE requirements. Identify and assist in the mitigation of risk in all areas of non-compliance.

4) Lead, train, evaluate staff and make strategic use of KPI data to enhance efficiency and service quality throughout the department.

5) Maintain on-going, effective communication with senior management and interdepartmental team members regarding loan servicing activities and support.

6) Process/Analyze/Maintain all Loan Servicing Department reports

7) Lead resolution efforts for member inquiries associated with loan servicing.

8) Meet or exceed the objectives for accuracy, volume, profitability, service expectations, and department strategic goals.

9) Work together with department leaders in key areas such as Retail, Lending, and Collections to ensure the department effectively supports the member experience and production efforts of the credit union.

10) Participate in department and/or strategic projects as directed.

11) Review and provide preliminary approval of invoices within area of responsibility.

12) Ensure all loans secured by collateral maintain proper lien position and filing.

13) Track, process, and maintain escrow payments.

14) Track, process, and maintain proper loan insurance requirements and claims.

15) Maintain a high degree of accountability and review for any third party vendors.

16) Perform other related and unrelated duties as requested and therefore required.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Performance is measured against the core competencies as outlined by the position and against goals established by Management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred plus a minimum of 3 to 5 experience in mortgage loan servicing; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of accounting principles, underwriting, loan servicing, and compliance

guidelines, and good communication skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:3-5 years in a leadership role with direct reports. Proficiency with Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:Ability to project a professional appearance and positive attitude

at all times. Ability to create project overviews and action plans, stay organized, and establish and meet deadlines.
