The salary range for this role, based in New York is $103,200.00 to $129,000.00, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary

  • A high-exposure and growth opportunity, Innovation Brand Management role within one of Pernod Ricard's most dynamic teams - Ready-to-Drink and Convenience. The Innovation Brand Manager will play a key role in managing Absolut, Malibu and Jameson Brand Ready-to-Drink Portfolio and shaping the brand's convenience strategy.
  • This exciting role requires a broadly skilled and experienced Brand Manager with innovation, marketing, strategy, project management, research and executional skill sets, who can balance thinking strategically with the key execution priorities on the business, manage multiple projects at a time and a strong ability to influence across levels within PRUSA and Global RTD Business Unit.
  • This role is National (US) in scope and requires the ability to work cross-functionally with local and global teams, as well as interact closely with Canadian counterparts. Key cross-functional teams may include (but not limited to) Production, NPD, S&OP, Finance, Commercial Sales, Commercial Marketing, Brand Management, Business intelligence and Insights.
  • The Innovation Brand Manager will be responsible for managing agency relationships, drafting liquid and design briefs, evaluating and executing research, portfolio strategy and product development plans. The role will own business analysis, project budget management and final business case P&L approval.
  • This role offers the opportunity to be autonomous while still being part of a large, cross-functional, and highly collaborative team. The position will report to the US-based Brand Director, RTD with close collaboration with the RTD Senior Manager Innovation, RTD Brand Manager and RTD Commercial Sales team. Additionally, this role will work closely with US-based and Paris-based Brand Managers, as well as the US-based Innovation NPD team.

Capabilities

  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles - previous experience of new product launches, programming development and in-market activation levers desirable.
  • Strong understanding of shopper- and consumer-based needs and packaging design principles
  • General understanding of US Spirits market, Channel dynamics and RTD Category nuance.
  • Ability to turn complex commercial and consumer insights into marketing actions and recommendations, as well as strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Must be results-oriented, organized, demonstrating the ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
  • Ability to manage projects independently from start to finish and meet deadlines
  • Creative, conceptual, and imaginative, yet practical enough to solve day-to-day problems
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management, including senior leadership
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced, and continuously evolving environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills .

Skills/Proficiencies

  • Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong business and financial acumen - proficient use of supporting data and analytics tools such as Power Bi, Nielsen/ IRI, Numerator etc.
  • Good knowledge of print, supply and manufacturing capabilities
  • Understanding of different research and insights tools and testing methodologies
  • Project P&L/Budget/Business Case Ownership
  • Excellent stakeholder and project management abilities

Experience & Education

  • BS/BA in Marketing based degree and/or Business (MBA a plus).
  • Minimum, 3-5 years of Brand Management, Innovation, Marketing or Insights experience
  • Preferred: Experience in FMCG, BevAlc or lifestyle categories
  • Project management skills, data analysis, budget management
  • Preferred: NYC Office Based. This position may travel up to 15% of the time.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Strategic & Product Portfolio Planning: helping to lead the design and delivery of the pipeline and new product portfolio. Evaluate opportunity areas, competitive market entries and consumer needs with a critical eye and understanding of the how to marry opportunity with brand equity and purpose.
  • Product Development: Lead NPD and agency partners through development of new products, from concept to brief to development and execution. Brief agencies, manage design and delivery of concepts and explorations. Own delivery of shelf standout, consumer-focused distinctive packaging that brings the concept and product experience to life within the brand values and guidelines.
  • Project Management: Drive project forward through Stage Gate process in collaboration with brand and cross-functional partners. Ensure deadlines are met and projects remain on track for key retailer sell in calendars.
  • Innovation Launch Prep: Collaborate with Brand and Commercial Teams to ensure strong sell-in, launch tool development and activation.
  • Insight & Research: Champion the consumer, own analysis of demand-based needs and market opportunities that shape the innovation development process. Bring relevant insights to the table during the innovation process and through collaboration, ensure innovations deliver on the needs of US customers and consumers.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Help to lead cross functional and agency teams (which includes but is not limited to the global RTD BU, agencies, field marketing, finance, sales, insights, production and NPD) fostering and building a strong cross functional team.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Lead the analysis and reporting of consumer, market and competitor trends to identify salient business issues/opportunities, working with brand marketing and divisional sales/marketing teams as necessary. Monitor launched innovations for performance against KPI goals and continue alignment with Brand Marketing & Channel/Shopper Marketing to ensure best activation and continued support for new product launches through Y2-3
  • Digital & Media: Understand role of digital channels within an innovation channel strategy
  • Project & Team Champion: Leverage excellent presentation and story-telling skills, passion and energy to be the primary advocate for the Brand Pipeline and Innovation Project, representing the Ready-to-Drink Business unit internally (e.g., management presentations, commercial marketing meetings etc.) and externally (e.g., in front of key customers, distributors etc.).
