About the role: ​​

The Manager, Product Sourcing & Contract Manufacturing will oversee all aspects of supply planning related to the branded supplements business. This includes ownership of all current SKUs in the branded supplements portfolio, as well as additional products moving from R&D to commercialization phases. In addition, this individual will serve as the day-to-day point of contact with various co-manufacturing partners, external suppliers, and 3PL partner (s), ensuring a strong operational infrastructure for the branded products business. This role reports into the Director of Product Sourcing & Contract Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure accuracy and optimal quantities of on hand inventory positions in all locations; balance service and inventory to build an agile, efficient supply chain, minimizing stock-outs and overstocks 

  • Plan and place purchase orders for all finished products; provide informed recommendations on purchasing quantities while effectively and accurately managing product lead times

  • Provide a clear analysis of supply & demand across the product portfolio; determine optimal levels of on-hand inventory, identify reorder points and desired safety stock based on product lead times, planned promotions, and supply chain considerations

  • Develop supply and demand planning tools that consolidate available sales data combined with planned marketing initiatives, with a focus on data integrity and ease of use

  • Maintain weekly inventory reports with a high degree of accuracy and analytical acumen, including stock status, open PO, and product stock outs; generate ad hoc reports & analyses as needed 

  • Ensure that procurement plans and transporting of materials are smoothly executed for on-time deliveries of finished goods

  • Coordinate with all production facilities, 3PL warehouses and direct-to-consumer fulfillment partners to manage inbound and outbound inventory needs 

  • Initiate transfers to Amazon fulfillment centers to maintain optimal inventory levels

  • Provide Finance team with accurate on-hand product inventory and packaging reports on a monthly basis; lead reconciliation of any inventory discrepancies, including initiating periodic cycle counts as needed and managing year-end physical inventory count

  • Manage freight transportation for finished products and packaging materials, with a focus on both logistics and cost efficiencies

  • Analyze production plans to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure finished goods are received on time and in full 

  • Work with the internal QA and regulatory team to ensure that all finished products are produced according to approved specifications

  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing and Kitchen Ops teams to manage product requirements for company initiatives and special projects, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time

  • Manage and report on production variances, and ensure the company holds all production facilities accountable to pre-defined waste percentages

  • Continuously improve purchasing systems and processes

  • Evaluate finished product COGs to provide insight into possible cost optimization

  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in supply chain or similar quantitative field

  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management

  • 3-5 years of experience managing a CPG products portfolio

  • 3-5 years’ experience of external vendor management, including: contract manufacturing, packaging, logistics and raw materials suppliers

  • Advanced analytical skills, in particular Microsoft Excel expertise (macros, lookup functions, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.) and expertise in dealing with large data sets

  • 3-5 years of experience working with an ERP system with MRP; demonstrated proficiency in logistics software

  • Previous experience with retailer and distributor onboarding and item set up, including but not limited to - UNFI, KeHE, Kroger, Target, Sephora, Ulta, CVS - preferred

  • Previous experience with EDI implementation and document transmissions (POs, PO acknowledgements, invoices) 

  • Previous experience with Amazon FBA preferred 

  • Detail oriented with strong negotiation capabilities and decision-making skills, coupled with quantitative and analytical expertise

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally with multiple groups 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to succinctly and accurately communicate critical information with both internal and external partners to drive business decisions

  • Results driven with a strong  business acumen and sense of organization, priority and efficiency

  • Ability to also work independently and remain flexible with changing priorities

  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills, adaptability/flexibility and initiative

    This full-time role is split between our NYC Headquarters in Soho and our production facility in LIC. We currently operate under a hybrid model where you will be required to work in person on Tuesdays/ Wednesdays/Thursdays and remote on Mondays and Fridays. 

The compensation salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
