JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for setting up and aligning parts per blueprint in preparation for punching and for performing punching operations. Sets up and operates machine tools to cut, shape, or form metal to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets up, adjusts, or operates basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.

  • Gathers necessary materials and performs layout per specifications.

  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as press brakes, shears, iron workers, saws, punch presses, turret presses, and rivet machines.

  • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as calipers, scales, and micrometers.

  • Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

  • References blueprint and confers with Lead person to determine job requirements.

  • Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • No education required.

  • HS diploma or GED preferred.

  • 1 to 2 years of experience required.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Forklift experience, preferred.

  • CNC Programming experience is a plus.
