Job Description

Job Summary:

Oversees information technology related activities within assigned scope of responsibility for one or more major functional areas within the information technology arena. Leads a team of Business Systems Analysts and Developers to develop, maintain, and enhances business applications and B2B processes. Collaborates with stakeholders to validate user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options. Assesses objectives for assigned project phases and recommends technical strategies and tactics to achieve business needs. Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Oversees a team that uses process design technology methodologies, programming languages and tools and solutions design techniques to develop applications to meet business specifications.

  • Oversees a team of business analysts to work to implement various B2B and interconnectivity capabilities between Avnet and customer trading partners, including EDI, API, and automated PDF processing.

  • Manages and validates functional specifications, builds technical specifications and develops application documentation.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to validate analysis, design, development and testing of applications to solve business requirements.

  • Regularly meets with internal and external stakeholders to capture and clarify requirements, provide status updates, advise on solutioning options, collaborate on greater core system enhancements, etc.

  • Manages the integrations of new or enhanced application components.

  • Provides oversight and direction to the conversion and system implementation plans.

  • Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities.

  • Manages and supports change readiness initiatives as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Level Specifications:

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support teams comprised of individual contributors. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. May coordinate work activities with other supervisors.

  • Directs routine and repetitive operations of team.

  • Assignments are largely established in accordance with schedules and deliverables. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.

  • Collaborates daily with direct reports and peers within similar functions primarily for the purpose of exchanging information.

  • Decisions have a direct impact on team operations. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of additional time, people and/or financial resources.

Work Experience:

  • Typically 4+ years relevant work experience

Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
