Otak Inc. Civil/Transportation Project Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Otak, Inc. is seeking a Civil/Transportation Project Engineer. In this role, you will exercise your design talents on a wide variety of projects ranging from municipal roadways to soft and hard-surface trails; unique underpasses and bridges; site/civil in national parks or university campuses; and utility projects for various municipal, state, federal and private clients. There will be opportunities to take your projects from concept through construction.
The successful candidate will design multi-disciplinary projects and use engineering judgment to transform design concepts into high quality construction drawings and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.
This position may be based out of our Redmond or Everett, WA office location.
- Manage tasks and teams associated with transportation projects.
- Perform design services related to roadway and site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
- Prepare specifications and cost estimates.
- Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
- Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team members.
- Participate in preparing proposals and project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Participate in Business Development based on strong client relationships.
- Provide construction support services.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent education is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Civil Engineer, with an emphasis on transportation, public infrastructure, drainage, utilities, site development, and civic projects for municipal and private clients.
- Professional Engineering License required, including obtaining a Washington State PE License within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations and codes, including AASHTO, NACTO, and MUTCD design guidelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and work location as well as market and business considerations.
Salary Range: $87,000 - $125,000 per year
