Actalent Data Center Construction Project Engineer 5 in Redmond, Washington

Description:

The main function of a Data Center Lease Planner is to oversee and manage schedule for Lessor-constructed projects. This Planner will oversee a variety of projects, providing an Owner's Oversight and ensuring Lessor compliance to schedule requirements. Furthermore, this Planner will drive schedule opportunities, mitigate schedule risks, and ensure coordination across Lessor-MSFT lines for schedule. This planner will assess Lessor schedules monthly and provide feedback in terms of the schedule's strength, the required corrective actions from the Lessor, and provide valuable feedback to the MSFT Lease Construction Manager in terms of project status and areas for focus.

Planner is to perform schedule reviews of lease-provider schedules, with reporting out on shortfalls and improvement opportunities. Specific activities include:

a) initial SOQ review and collaboration with lessors on improvements to schedule, so as to have confidence in timelines (especially as we establish contract and agreed baseline schedule), WBS/execution, and soon-to-commence monthly reporting

b) engagement with lessors on bi/weekly progress calls and monthly review of submitted schedule with a critical eye to schedule gaps, vulnerabilities, or opportunities to accelerate/de-risk

c) as engaged by lease construction managers, deeper dives on schedule recovery

This Planner is a critical ally to Construction and Integration managers, providing them with actionable requests for Lessors to integrate into their schedules / scheduling process.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Skills:

• General knowledge and experience with a variety of construction means and methods

• Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multiple teams

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
