BluePearl Regional Vice President Operations West in Remote, Washington

BluePearl is seeking a Regional Vice President of Operations for our West Region. This Region consists of California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado. The successful candidate will be located in the west or central regions.

The Regional Vice President of Operations directs and plans the operations of a defined region to maximize returns on investments and increase productivity, providing leadership and decision-making in matters impacting financial performance, quality of care and client experience.

As the Regional Vice President of Operations, you will:

  • Partner with assigned region’s Regional Vice President, Medicine to optimize business performance and the clinical culture.

  • Practice cost containment strategies, maintaining profitability and growth while ensuring compliance with applicable organizational and regulatory requirements.

  • Assists senior leadership with the development, implementation, and management of organizational initiatives and strategies.

  • Provides leadership, guidance and coaching for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and high-performance workforce.

  • Ensures the development of operational leaders and creates a pipeline of talent to support future organizational growth.

  • Ensures the provision of remarkable patient care whilst maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory and organization requirements and standards including OSHA, DEA, FDA, and applicable state and local agencies.

  • Ensures hospital leaders are attentive to the engagement level of associates; takes a proactive approach to influence and drive positive hospital climate.

  • Accountable for associate engagement and retention.

  • Interacts with all levels of the organization to manage the business including senior executives.

  • Interprets and implements organizational policies and procedures.

  • Oversees the application and implementation of established policies and the control and effective utilization of physical and financial resources.

  • Responsible for profit and loss management of hospitals within the region including ensuring the optimal performance of facility operations to achieve or exceed budgets and key performance indicators.

  • Collaborates with Vet Relations Manager(s) to develop and implement a regional marketing plan to support regional growth and profitability including facility startups and new clinician community introductions.

  • Implements operational efficiency improvements which may include, but are not limited to, the standardization of systems, quality control, safety, site selection, facility design, and client satisfaction.

  • Accountable for driving staffing, charge capture and inventory management models and all pertinent business initiatives, including prompt implementation of action plans to correct hospital below threshold performance.

  • Responsible for clinician offers; negotiating and approving agreements as needed.

  • Ensures all Associates in the region receive the required training and education according to organizational policy and to ensure compliance with all risk management initiatives.

  • Provides oversight of all privacy and security aspects and issues in the group and practices risk management strategies and collaborates with internal and external legal counsel as appropriate to resolve legal and litigation issues with goal of reducing expenses for the organization.

  • Responsible for maintenance of environmental integrity including safety of all facilities within the region.

  • Collaborates with the Business Development team to respond to merger and acquisition opportunities and to participate in the related activities as appropriate.

  • Maintains current knowledge regarding regional veterinary services market and industry issues which may impact the business.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Graduate degree preferred.

  • 10+ years’ experience of senior operational leadership.

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, prioritization of work, and problem-solving skills.

  • Travel of 50% required.
