Summary of Role:

A project engineer manages the technical communication and quality of community development. This position will follow up on requests for T24 compliance, missing construction information, and building code research while working with individual builder needs. Knowledge of technical communication and relentless task tracking are essential for success.

A successful engineer in this role will understand all aspects of the community projects to coordinate clearly and maximize efficiency, work hard to track open items, and follow up with the appropriate party to deliver correct information on time. The position also requires strong interpersonal skills and impeccable task management.

This is intended to be an entry-level position in the solar industry and mid-size residential construction. The position involves learning solar construction management and solar design engineering as you advance in your role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively during daily interactions with clients to interpret their requirements and needs

  • Maintain quality control and reviewing plan sets for correctness and compliance

  • Communicate effectively with the account managers, operation managers, and other team members to aid and provide technical support

  • Generate process maps and related documentation

  • Creative, optimistic, and a team player

  • Create and maintain metrics and reports in various formats

  • Supports drafting by researching AHJ requirements

  • Updating and following up with T24 compliance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required

  • EIT in Mechanical Engineering

  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in residential construction or the solar industry

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Salesforce reporting and data analysis proficiency

  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD

  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline

  • Familiarity with home battery or microgrid applications

  • Understanding of the NEC and State Building Codes

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for working hours

  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable method

  • Able to position and move objects up to 10 pounds

  • Ability to learn solar through installation boot camps and training on platforms or roofs

  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency

  • The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 30% travel.

  • Day-to-day work is completed in the office or remotely at personal computer M-F, first shift hours

Please note the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and in the geographical location noted. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,700/year to $103,100/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package including annual bonus eligibility, short and long-term incentives, and a comprehensive and competitive benefits program which includes health insurance coverage, employee wellness, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, paid time off, and so much more.
