From your PASSION to ours

This is a key position responsible for the proper pasteurization of raw dairy materials and product batching and formula preparation for cultured plant department. The employee in this position will be placed in other areas of production as needed per production needs.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

·Perform all pre-operational procedures prior to start up.

·Take all safety precautions and operate a legal pasteurizer used to pasteurize raw ingredients.

·Ability to operate all required batching equipment.

·Product batching and formula preparation.

·Culture handling and fermentation.

·Log and record all ingredients to include all liquid and dry ingredients according to production procedures.

·Utilize time efficiently to maintain production flow.

·Processing of batch reports utilizing designated software program.

·Ability to hook up silos for production processing.

·Laboratory testing and PH control.

·Perform and verify daily legal set points (cut in / cut out, temperature, seal checks etc.) at the pasteurizer.

·Clean & sanitize pasteurization equipment.

·Chemical titrations

·Ensure that HTST pasteurizer is functioning as per state and federal regulation.

·Pull and take samples to the testing lab for analysis as directed.

·Accurately record all applicable batching and pasteurization information on the recording charts and other required documentation.

·Ensure that the safety of the product is not jeopardized.

·Maintain constant communication with machine operators to ensure production schedule is being followed in an efficient and timely manner.

·Follow other instructions as directed by the lead person, supervisor or member of management.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

· Must pass written and equipment evaluation examination and obtain a license from California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) prior to operating HTST.

·Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense and understanding to fulfill instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram or schedule form.

·Language Skills:Person must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the company.

·Mathematics:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.

·Computer skills: Basic MS Word / Excel/Tech Wizard.

· Knowledge of personal safety practices, common sense, and basic organizational skills.

· High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Experience:

· Previous employment in a food industry setting is preferred.

· A stable and dependable work history.

Specialized Knowledge:

· General Pasteurizer’s License from CDFA

· Basic Training in GMP, HAACP, Food Safety.

· Pallet jack certification

· Basic mathematical skills (must be able to calculate averages)

Skills/Abilities:

· Strong attention to detail.

· Manual dexterity.

· Vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus).

· Push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally,

· Stand for entire shift.

· Perform repetitive movements (e.g., twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching).

Salary Description

$23.95/hour
