JOB DESCRIPTION
The Process Engineer -- Electro-Mechanical position will provide technical assistance to support all manufacturing departments insuring the continuation of safe, economical, quality insured, and lean production operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, maintain, interpret and apply necessary documentation including product & process specifications, SPC control charting, work instructions/standard operating procedures and etc. to benchmark & improve process
- Strong Electrical troubleshooting and installation experience
- Resolve process issues in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
- Develop & implement troubleshooting guides for equipment and process
- Review and approve work completed by vendors, contractors and appropriate team members as deemed appropriate
- Provide process support during equipment commissioning & start-up phases
- Lead and/or participate in OPEX, process and departmental initiatives---GEMBA, KAIZEN, process map, time studies, incident investigations & etc.
- Develop & implement process standards and best practices
- Implement technology upgrades that result in improved processes
- Assists with equipment and process troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Improve uptime, cost savings, product yield quality and safety
- Investigate, discuss and solve complex problems with appropriate team members, sub-contractors, customers and suppliers
- Help further company culture of implementing innovative processes and OPEX initiatives; be a change agent for the business
- Manage projects and project timelines using project management tools, engineering principles and techniques
- Maintain, update and oversee detailed engineering prints (specifically building and production line layout)
- Assist in equipment repair to aid in diagnosis and problem solving
- Oversee design, construction and operation of new equipment and their installations
- Lead process development and validation of new and old equipment
- Evaluate existing systems, equipment and processes and modify as appropriate to improve safety, quality, cost and delivery
- Design, develop and purchase tools, jigs and fixtures in support of process and manufacturing needs
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic equipment
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC and Controls

QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-10 years of experience.
- Project Leadership experience.
- Lean manufacturing training and experience -- Certified Six Sigma black belt preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge/experience with equipment justification, assembly, consumer product manufacturing, and vendor relations preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Education
- Degreed (ME or related field)
